Discover Bezalel Hanepoot Brandy

Bezalel Hanepoot Brandy is a truly unique South African potstill brandy, distilled from Hanepoot raisins, crafted to capture the essence of the Orange River valley — an oasis of sweetness and spice winding through the vast Kalahari Desert. Handcrafted using traditional potstill methods, it delivers a lively yet silky-smooth entry and a lingering Hanepoot raisin finish that invites you to savour every sip.

This is a brandy made for sharing. Approachable enough for those new to craft spirits, yet complex enough to reward the discerning palate.

A South African Brandy Sipper Like No Other

The Hanepoot grape — known internationally as Muscat d’Alexandrie — has been grown along the Orange River for centuries. It is one of South Africa’s most celebrated varieties, prized for its intensely aromatic, raisin-sweet character. At Bezalel, we harness this heritage to create a brandy that is unmistakably South African: warm, generous, and full of sun-drenched personality.

The Kalahari in a Glass

The Orange River valley is a study in contrasts — fertile vineyards and orchards carved out of arid desert, sustained by one of southern Africa’s great rivers. It is this tension between abundance and harshness that gives the Hanepoot Brandy its character: rich and sweet on the one hand, with a warmth and spice that speaks to the desert landscape it comes from.

Crafted at Bezalel Wine & Brandy Estate, on the Orange River since 1947, the Hanepoot Brandy continues a proud tradition of turning the Kalahari’s unique terroir into something truly exceptional.
