09:00The garden
The florists working the lawn, the tables going down in the Cellar Hall, coffee for whoever is up early.
Your Dream.Our Pleasure.
One venue, one wedding at a time. When the Estate opens its gate to you, its event spaces are yours alone, with no other event on the day. And if you want the whole of Dyasonsklip to yourselves, we close the Farm Kitchen and the tasting room for the day and give all of it over to you.
We don't host weddings. We lend you the farm.
You'll stand where four generations have worked the same ground, under a sky that does the same thing every evening and never once looks ordinary.
The season you choose shapes everything: the light, the garden, the evening, and what your guests carry home.
Spring comes quietly to the Kalahari. The vines wake in tender green, the mornings soften, and the light loses its winter edge.
We open the garden gate to days made for standing outside, for vows spoken in the warm, unhurried air of a farm coming back to life.
High summer is the estate at its most generous. The vines run deep emerald, and the days pour golden light from early until late.
The evenings stretch long and warm, and the Kalahari holds nothing back.
In autumn the vines turn, copper, amber, ox-blood, and the light slants low and honeyed across the rows.
The days ease, the evenings cool into something romantic, and the whole farm glows from within. We think there is no lovelier time to marry here.
Winter strips the Kalahari back to essentials, earthy browns, deep reds, and air so clear it aches.
The days are crisp, the nights cold and enormous with stars. We draw the celebration close: cellar warmth, candlelight, and a sky like a second ceiling.
The Bezalel Cellar Hall is part of the working cellar itself. The stone is Keimoes granite, a little over a billion years old, blasted off the flood plain by the third generation to make room for vines and then laid into walls a metre thick rather than carted away. Four hundred and twenty square metres of it, and the barrel room a single door away, where couples go for their photographs among the casks.
A farm wedding venue between Upington and Keimoes.
Four places to hold a day, and they are not variations on each other. A tree, a garden, a walled courtyard, and a room built out of billion-year-old granite. Most weddings here use two or three of them before the night is over.

One tree, wide enough to hold a whole wedding under, with the vine rows running off behind it. It makes its own shade, which in this part of the world is most of the argument.
300 m² of lawn under one old willow, with the vine rows running off behind it. It suits a ceremony, a reception under the stars or an open-air conference, and it keeps its own shade through the afternoon.

Wood, open on all sides, set down in the middle of the garden. It comes into its own at the point in the evening when people stop sitting where they were told to sit.
A 250 m² timber pavilion, open on all sides, in the middle of the garden lawns. Covered enough for shade and open enough for the evening air: garden parties, receptions and breakaway sessions.

Granite on three sides, which holds the cool right through the afternoon and the warmth well past dark. The smallest of the four, and the one people are most surprised by.
110 m² enclosed by the estate's old granite buildings. The stone does the decorating, so it needs very little: cocktail hours, small seated dinners and workshops.

Four hundred and twenty square metres inside the working cellar, under walls a metre thick that the third generation built from stone cleared off the vineyard land. It is also the answer when it rains.
The estate's largest indoor space: 420 m² inside the working cellar, under granite walls a metre thick. It takes the big occasions, from receptions of 280 seated to gala dinners and conferences, and it is the plan for a rainy day.
Everything on this page holds just as true for a conference, a launch or a milestone birthday. The same four spaces, the same team running the day, and in the Cellar Hall four hundred and eighty seated theatre-style, under walls the third generation built from ancient granite cleared off the vineyard land. Our celebration packages run on the same lines: all-inclusive in the Cellar Hall for 50 to 150 guests, with smaller functions of up to 40 in the garden or the Farm Kitchen.
One wedding at a time, always. Anything else can take a single space or all four at once — the summit in the Cellar Hall, breakaways under the Pagoda, dinner in the Courtyard.
Getting married under the Kalahari sky with the vineyards stretching out behind us was pure magic. The estate felt completely ours for the weekend, and months later our guests are still raving about the food, the brandy tastings, and the sheer warmth of the hospitality.
Bezalel was the perfect balance of rustic soul and effortless elegance. From golden hour photos among the vines to dancing the night away, every single detail felt personal, unhurried, and genuinely special. We couldn’t have dreamed of a better setting to start our lives together.
The setting is breathtaking, but it was the team and atmosphere that truly made our wedding unforgettable. Having our closest family and friends stay on the estate, sharing incredible local wine and food under the stars, made the entire weekend feel like a warm, intimate celebration rather than just an event.

The packages are priced for these five numbers. Somewhere in between, or more than 150? Ask us for a quote.

For one day, Bezalel belongs to you and nobody else. We close the Farm Kitchen and the tasting room to the public, so there are no day visitors, no lunch crowd behind your photographs and no strangers on the lawn: only your people, the vineyards and that Kalahari light. It is the truest way to enjoy the farm on your wedding day, for R8 000 more than the standard venue hire.
It adds R8 000 to any package, garden weddings included, on any date. For the packages for 50 to 150 guests, that takes venue hire from R20 000 to R28 000. Rooms on the farm are booked separately and aren’t guaranteed, so reserve them as soon as your date is set.
Every price here is a packaged deal, set out in full so you can plan before you ever write to us. If your wedding doesn't fit one of them, tell us what you are picturing and we will quote it properly.
Answered here so you do not have to write an email to find out. If yours is not on the list, ask. We would rather tell you now.
For a wedding, up to 280 seated at tables in the Bezalel Cellar Hall, and as few as twenty for a garden wedding under the Willow Tree or in the Courtyard. For a conference or a performance the hall seats 480 theatre-style, and 800 standing. How you lay a room out moves the number more than the room does: round tables seat fewer than long ones, and a proper dance floor gives up a table or two. Tell us your numbers and we will tell you which space holds them.
No. Our Small Garden Weddings are made for up to twenty guests, under the Willow Tree or in the Courtyard, and the all-inclusive packages start at fifty. If your number falls in between, or beyond a hundred and fifty, tell us and we will quote for it.
Yes. The Essential Cellar and Classic Bezalel packages cover the reception in the Bezalel Cellar Hall, so you can marry at your church, or wherever you choose, and come on to the farm afterwards. The Signature Estate package sets your ceremony up at the Pagoda, and a Pagoda ceremony can be added to the other two.
Weddings in the Bezalel Cellar Hall run until midnight, or until 02:00 with exclusive use of the estate. Small Garden Weddings end at 22:00, or at midnight with exclusive use.
From 08:00 on the day, or from the day before by prior arrangement. The Signature Estate package includes a ceremony rehearsal.
By 02:00 at the latest. Breakdown happens after the event or the following day, so nobody has to rush.
Yes. Food is part of every wedding package, cooked by our own kitchen, but venue-only hire is available if you would rather bring your own caterer. Ask us for a quote.
It is always a cash bar, our own and licensed, with our barmen behind it. You or your family can put credit behind the bar in advance, though we don't run an open bar that is settled after the event. You are welcome to bring your own wine: corkage applies, and the events coordinator will quote it for you.
Yes. Vegetarian, vegan, halaal and allergy-aware meals, as well as children's meals, are arranged with your final numbers three weeks before the day, and are priced as an add-on.
The Country House and garden rooms can sleep your closest people on site, if they are free. Rooms are booked on their own and can't be held for a wedding, so book them as soon as you have your date. Everyone else is twenty minutes away in Upington or Keimoes.
No. It is quoted and booked separately, and it is not a condition of the venue.
Straight off the N14 between Upington and Keimoes, on a tarred approach. Upington airport is about half an hour away.
Yes, on site and free, with room for a bus. Cars may be left overnight.
Yes. The Willow Tree, the Pagoda, the Courtyard and the Bezalel Cellar Hall are all reachable step-free. Where a space sits on grass we lay boards, and we would rather you asked in advance than arrived hoping.
Yes. It is a working farm, so they tend to have a better day than anyone.
The Bezalel Cellar Hall is the answer, and it is already yours: all three wedding packages hold the reception there, and a Small Garden Wedding moves inside to it too. At 420 m² it is the estate's largest indoor space, so an outdoor ceremony moves inside without anyone losing a seat, and it takes us under an hour.
Ceremonies are timed to the sunset of your season for exactly this reason. The Bezalel Cellar Hall and the Courtyard hold the cool right through the afternoon, and the Willow Tree keeps its own shade.
Yes. For R8 000 more we close the Farm Kitchen and the tasting room for the day, and the whole farm is yours. It can be added to any package, garden weddings included, on any date, and the party runs later: until 02:00 instead of midnight, or until midnight for a garden wedding. Accommodation isn't part of it: rooms are booked separately and may already be taken by the time you book, so ask about them early.
The packages are priced for 50, 80, 100, 120 and 150 guests. For anything in between, beyond that, or put together differently, ask us for a quote.
Yes, bring whoever you like. And if you ask us for a recommendation, know that neither Bezalel nor our coordinator ever takes a commission on one.
A deposit of R10 000 secures your date. We don't hold dates provisionally, but we will keep yours in mind and let you know if anyone else asks about it. The date goes to whoever pays the deposit first.
After the R10 000 deposit, 50% of your estimated total is due 60 days before the wedding. Your final guest numbers are confirmed three weeks before, and the balance is due two weeks before. No VAT is added. If you need to cancel or move your date, the charge depends on how much notice you give, from R1 500 when you cancel more than six months ahead. The full cancellation terms are in our refund policy.
Please do. Come at the hour you would want to marry at, and we will walk it with you.
